Pranayama & Meditation
|
PRANAYAMA & KRIYASSaturday 5th of September - 5:00pm to 7:30pm
Pranayama is an essential part of Yoga, it is one of the Principles of the "Eight Limbs" of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Pranayama is a combination of two words, Prana and Yama. Prana is Breath and Yama is control of the breath. Breath exercises enhance your control over the flow and distribution of your Vital Energy (Life).
Proper breathing purifies the body, strengthens the nervous system, calms and clears the mind. Pranayama practice promotes health and when the breath flows freely we may find space to stay connected, aware and centered. Importantly, the Breath serves as an important bridge between the outward, active practices of yoga - like asana - and the internal, surrendering practices that lead us into deeper states of meditation. |
